Speeding time-to-market for innovative yachts with CATIA V5

 

IBM and Dassault Systèmes (DS), a world leader in 3D and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions, today announced that Timmerman Yachts, a world leader in the super yachts industry, has selected their Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions to foster collaboration and streamline product development for new motor yachts. “The decision to select the IBM and Dassault Systèmes’ PLM solutions for shipbuilding is based on the idea of partnership.  CATIA V5 provides a suite of shipbuilding specific applications which integrate design, detailing, visualization, analysis and downstream production information. CATIA significantly decreases the time needed to develop on-board systems, interior designs and to coordinate production. Yachting companies use CATIA V5 advanced digital design applications to develop integrated 3D product models that include all key design and systems disciplines into a single model that supports concurrent engineering and collaboration between design and production teams.
