Dassault Announces DELMIA V5 Inspect Rapid

Dassault Systèmes, today announced its DELMIA V5 Inspect® Rapid product, a new streamlined 3D inspection solution uniquely suited for Tier Two and Three suppliers receiving data from OEM/Tier One companies where 3D FD&T data and Knowledge ware rules have already been defined. DELMIA V5 Inspect Rapid allows users to check for collisions and interferences and measure distances while defining the inspection process. Any conflict can be resolved in the virtual environment, increasing productivity and reducing the time-to-market. And, since the user can define features that are associative to geometry and tolerance information, when design changes are made, the inspection program will automatically update the features and the measurement path.

Using customer-defined Knowledgeware rules, V5 Inspect Rapid automatically generates error-free CMM paths and programs which perform to the exact customer specification. These inspection rules contain the appropriate probing sequence to be applied to each feature and then automatically determine the number and array of points to be probed – calculating the probe path and formatting the output results.

DELMIA V5 Inspect Rapid includes a library of the most popular coordinate measuring machines as well as a comprehensive library of probe heads, rotating probes, tool change racks, probes, and styli allowing users to quickly and easily retool the virtual CMM with different probes for different tasks. It seamlessly integrates with both CATIA V4 and V5 applications as well as with DELMIA V5 Powertrain and Machining solutions.
